About
Dr Claire Minshull

I’m Dr Claire Minshull, a rehabilitation and conditioning specialist with a PhD in exercise science & rehabilitation and nearly 30 years of experience working at the intersection of research, clinical practice and professional education. I’m also Professor at Leeds Beckett University, School of Health in the UK.

I have personally conducted 1000s of assessments of muscle function of athletes, patients and everybody in-between in support of return to play decision-making, rehabilitation guidance and for scientific studies. I’ve written many peer-reviewed articles on measurement science and how to optimise assessment methods and have designed and had custom-built several dynamometers to acquire the quality data in support of the above.

Bridging science and clinical practice in rehabilitation and performance.

This site was born from a clear need: practitioners want to use objective measures like hand-held dynamometry, but face confusion and conflicting information about what really matters when choosing a device and importantly how to test muscle performance with precision.

Through this platform, I aim to provide independent, evidence-based guidance to help you make informed decisions, implement best practices, and ultimately improve outcomes for your patients.

If you have any questions, or want to flag a new dynamometer, drop me a line.
